400 G - QSFP112
QSFP112 — 400G. 400G in a QSFP envelope — four lanes of 100G PAM4.
Overview
QSFP112 (QSFP MSA, IEEE 802.3ck / 802.3cu). Four electrical lanes at 100 Gbps PAM4 — same 4-lane topology as QSFP28 and QSFP56, scaled to 100G per lane. CMIS-based management. The primary 400G form factor for new data-center fabric and the natural migration target for QSFP28-capable platforms. Single-mode only — 4-lane parallel optics at 400G are single-mode by definition; if you need multi-mode 400G (SR8 / SR4.2), see the 400G QSFP-DD product instead.

Coded for these platforms
Every NetAPI QSFP112 module is OEM-coded for the target switch and validated against current production firmware. Common targets:
- Cisco Nexus 9300-GX/GX2, 9408, Silicon One platforms
- Juniper QFX5130, QFX5220, QFX5240, MX10K
- Arista 7060X5, 7280R3, 7500R3, 7800R3, 7060X6
- Dell Z9332F, Z9432F, S5448F
- Aruba CX 9300, 10000
- NVIDIA Spectrum-4 (SN5000 series)
Recommended for
- Modern data-center fabric on QSFP112-capable hosts
- AI/ML training cluster east-west traffic (400G RoCE)
- Hyperscale spine-spine links
- Coherent DCI for metro and long-haul (400ZR / ZR+)
Engineering notes
- QSFP112 uses the same mechanical envelope as QSFP28 but requires a host with 100G PAM4-capable SerDes — older QSFP28 cages will not accept QSFP112 modules at 400G.
- 400ZR and 400ZR+ modules can draw 15–18 W. Verify chassis per-port power budget before populating every cage with coherent optics.
- PAM4 sensitivity to dirty connectors is real — 400G installs warrant a fiber scope and a click-cleaner per port.
- QSFP112 is single-mode only. For multi-mode 400G (SR8 / SR4.2 BiDi), use the 400G QSFP-DD product.
